Faith for the Impossible

Faith is the hand that receives. And unless we spend much time in the Word, we won’t know what is ours and what our faith can receive. The Word reveals our inheritance and what our faith can reach for. The Word is God’s revelation to us; it is written by Him and is not based on the natural world. Sensory truth is merely what we perceive in the natural realm. We should not be moved by what we see through sense knowledge, but only by the revelatory Word of truth. This is the basis that enables us to believe for the impossible.

Things of the Spirit: The Word of Wisdom

Continuing her teaching on the things of the Spirit, Pastor Christine explains the word of wisdom. This is not the general wisdom that God offers to all believers. It is a specific word given as the Spirit wills and is a supernatural revelation by the Spirit of God concerning the divine purpose and plan in the mind and will of God. Sometimes a word of knowledge is combined with a word of wisdom about God’s plan and will. Many words of wisdom are warnings that must be heeded to benefit the hearers. Others are warnings that must be passed on to others.

Understanding the Difference Between Hope and Faith

Jesus said that faith, hope, and love remain. Hope and faith aren’t the same. Hope is in the future—a confident expectation of something we look forward to, a blueprint of what we desire. Faith is now! It’s the evidence, the present assurance, the title deed to what we’re hoping for. We attach faith to what we hope for, and by faith we receive it. Without hope in something, our faith has nothing to adhere to; and without faith, we can’t receive what we hope for. We will receive what we hope for if we don’t let up on our faith, keeping it attached to that hope.

Discerning the Signs of the Times

Jesus said believers can discern the signs of the times if they’re spiritually attuned. In the time of Noah, God gave signs He was going to bring judgement on the sin that was rampant. But only Noah and his family discerned this and believed it. Today, although we won’t know the exact hour of His return, we can discern that we’re in the last days and Jesus is coming soon. Numerous signs point to this: widespread deception, wars, terrorism, famines, economic instability, persecution, false prophets, love waxing cold—but also the worldwide preaching of the Gospel! Let’s be motivated by the end times signs and be about the Father’s business!
