To grow up in Christ, we must let God reveal our blind spots —areas in our lives wedon’t see without the help of God and people like our pastor. When we recognize our blind spots, God helps us make necessary corrections so we can move forward. We must also be rooted in the knowledge that our spirit man — the born again part of us — is completely clean is God’s eyes. Knowing this enables us to run our race without looking back at past mistakes!

Why Many Christians Miss God

God has a plan for each of us! Why do many Christians miss His plan? One reason is if we live by our emotions or our mind. Also, weights or sins hold us back—they dull our spirits and we miss the Holy Spirit’s promptings. Not being consecrated to His will and not waiting on God in prayer will also cause us to miss God. But by correcting these things, we won’t miss God’s plans for our lives!

The armor of God teaches us to be prepared for prayer. Wrestling denotes great effort; we don’t fight against the devil -- he’s already defeated! The only wrestling is for faith and holding fast to the Word. The helmet of salvation means knowing our rights and privilges in Christ. The breastplate is our righteousness in Him. Shod feet mean light for our path. The shield means facing the enemy head on. The sword of the Spirit is the Word, and Jesus demonstrated how to answer the enemy with the Word.

Faith is vital to the victorious life. Faith works when we’re led by the Holy Spirit. We need His guidance on decisions and next steps. The New Testament believer can be led by the Holy Spirit in them. God only leads us into blessings, so we can trust the Holy Spirit’s leading even if our minds and emotions don’t always line up. We can always trust the Holy Spirit in our inner man because He always knows what to do!

How to be Led by the Spirit of God

Christians are led by God first through the Word; second by the Holy Spirit within us who bears witness in our inner man; third by the agreement and discernment of our spouse or our pastors. We must spend quality time with God and praying in tongues. That helps us be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and to the inward witness when we must make decisions. And if we miss it, His Spirit can get us back on track!

The Tithe: Is It For Today?

While justice and mercy are weightier matters of the law, Jesus didn’t eliminate the tithe! The tithe belongs to God. We don’t tithe from compulsion but in honor and love for our Provider. It’s the foundation of His supernatural provision. People may have their needs met without God, but with His help we prosper supernaturally, His way. Our tithe pleases Him and is holy when we tithe our first fruits, with our whole heart and in faith.

Faith is SImple

God made faith simple! We see this in how He created the world. In faith God spoke the world into being; His words framed the world. He made reality by speaking. Likewise, we believe the Word and release faith by calling things forth. Then we rejoice and move on, knowing the thing we spoke is done, whether it appears immediately or later! Faith is now, not in the future. Let’s call things forth in faith, just like God did!

Praise is the Answer

True worship means getting past a focus on yourself, your mind and your flesh, and stirring up praise from your spirit. It’s singing psalms and making melody in your heart to the Lord. If you’re analytical or not used to extended praise, it can be uncomfortable at first. But you can train yourself and you’ll see the benefits. As you step out in faith and worship God from your spirit, then answers, clarity, and strength always follow.
